The SMTA is a consortium of state and regional trade associations representing their local medical technology companies. SMTA’s mission is to collectively support the medical technology industry on the local, state and national levels by fostering a collaborative environment through sharing of best practices, promoting the industry, and advocating for public policies that support innovation.

CSBA is a confederation of state-based, non-profit trade organizations each governed by its own board of directors. The Georgia Bio President is a past chair of this board. The common mission of the members of the CSBA is to promote public understanding, and to advocate for public policies that support the responsible development of the bioscience industry. This confederation provides Georgia Bio members with access to discount vendor programs through the BIO Business Solutions program.

Since 1992, MDMA has been the voice for medical technology innovation, playing a proactive role in helping to shape policies that impact the ecosystem. This is accomplished by working with key Members of Congress, senior staff at FDA, CMS and other agencies, and through the grassroots support of our members.

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) represents the country’s leading innovative biopharmaceutical research companies, which are devoted to discovering and developing medicines that enable patients to live longer, healthier and more productive lives. Over the last decade, PhRMA member companies have more than doubled their annual investment in the search for new treatments and cures, including nearly $101 billion in 2022 alone. 

The Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) is a unique nonprofit organization which brings together Georgia's research universities, business community and state government to create opportunities to grow Georgia's economy through scientific discovery.


Since its founding in 1990, the GRA has focused its technology-based economic development strategy in three areas: the recruitment of world-class scientific talent, the development of sophisticated research infrastructure and the commercialization of university research and development. In all, GRA's programs have generated some $2.1 billion in new investment in the state, helped generate some more than 150 new companies and created more than 5,500 new science and technology jobs.
