Jason Rupp

Head, Business Development
Jason has more than 20 years of life science business development and non-profit leadership experience. Currently, Jason is the Head of Business Development at the Center for Global Health Innovation. Prior to this, Jason was Head of Business Development at Acclinate, a company focused on diversifying clinical trials, where he led the business development team.
Prior to joining Acclinate, Jason was President of Southeast Life Sciences, an organization formed in 2019 after the merger of the Southeastern Medical Device Association (SEMDA) and Southeast BIO. Prior to Southeast Life Sciences, Jason was the Executive Director of SEMDA, serving as its first full-time Executive Director.
Before joining SEMDA, Jason spent 12 years in business development and marketing at the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), two influential healthcare trade associations based in Washington, DC. At AdvaMed, Jason served as Vice President of Business Development and on the board of directors of the AdvaMed conference. Prior to his time at AdvaMed, he spent 10 years at BIO working in membership and marketing.
Prior to his tenure at BIO, Jason served as the Director of Business Development for ACI Aviation Consulting. In this role, Jason used financial modeling to create valuations and forecasts for aircraft deals. Jason worked four years on Capitol Hill, serving as Senator Tim Hutchinson’s (AR) Legislative Assistant on the Environment & Public Works Committee.
Jason earned a B.A. in political science from Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the fencing team and worked as a river guide in the summers. Jason received a M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.
