Speaker Bios
Deepa Narayanan is a Program Director in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Development Center at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). At NCI she manages a portfolio of SBIR & STTR contracts and grants related to medical devices, imaging technologies and radiation therapy. Additionally, Deepa plays a key role in planning and leadership of several SBIR Development Center initiatives such as Investor Initiatives, Federal Resources Workshop, outreach activities and targeted solicitations.
Monique Pond is a current AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow working in the National Cancer Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research (NCI SBIR) Development Center. NCI SBIR provides funding, mentoring, and networking assistance for small businesses developing high-impact technologies to reduce the burden of cancer. Since starting at NCI in 2018, Dr. Pond has focused on exploring new programs to assist small businesses in navigating the regulatory pathways for their technologies.
