Georgia Tech is expanding Science Square. The first building just sold.

As economic headwinds continue to complicate office deals in Atlanta, the only completed building part of Georgia Tech’s Science Square has traded hands. 

Ancora Partners, which is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, paid $85 million to acquire the five-story, 128,000-square-foot building, according to Fulton County property deeds. This value is more than 25% higher than what seller TPG Real Estate Partners paid to control the building in December 2020, which was $60 million. 

Completed in 2007, the building is part of Science Square, a biosciences research park on the Georgia Tech campus designed to cluster together technology and biosciences-focused companies. It was previously called Technology Enterprise Park
