Mary Albertson is a leading innovation management professional with 28+ years of experience in leadership, strategic management and facilitating transfer of academic innovations through commercialization. She is skilled at establishing relationships with stakeholders in universities, industries, and related organizations. As Director of the Office of Technology Licensing at Georgia Tech she leads the office in protecting and commercializing technology resulting from $1.2B of research expenditures. As Senior Director of Commercialization at PIVOT, University of Utah, Albertson was an integral part of the leadership team and managed interdisciplinary teams responsible for supporting the tech transfer process. Previously she was Associate Director at Stanford University’s Office of Technology Licensing (OTL), where she worked for more than two decades supporting academic research commercialization. Albertson has managed technologies from evaluation through licensing in the life science, physical science, and medical device fields. She has been involved in information management, the analysis of technology transfer business processes and information collection systems.

Albertson is a Past President of AUTM, an organization of professionals involved in the various aspects of transferring technology for commercialization. Her responsibilities included developing and driving strategic goals to position AUTM to lead technology transfer professionals in the evolving innovation management landscape and representing AUTM internationally.

Albertson has been a regularly invited speaker on innovation management at worldwide conferences and courses. She has spoken on topics ranging from strategic planning through technology assessment.
